Emree Weaver (b. 1990) is an independent photojournalist and videographer based in Austin, Texas focusing on topics such as human nature, social issues, women’s rights, and the environment. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Italian at the University of Texas at Austin in 2012 and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Photojournalism, also at UT. Her background in photography goes back to high school, though she’s shifted her focus to journalistic stories within the past couple of years. She has been published in various small media outlets, such as Texas Music Magazine, Reporting Texas, and Austin Fusion Magazine and also worked as a staff photographer for the Texas House of Representatives during the 84th Legislative Session. She currently serves as a teaching assistant to Dennis Darling for his introductory photography class at the University of Texas at Austin. In early 2017, she joined Native Agency as their Content Manager/Assistant Editor to be a part of the driving force in diversifying the industry of photojournalism.
