Emree Weaver is a documentary photographer and videographer based in central and south Texas focusing on topics relating to the human condition, identity, social issues, women’s rights, the environment and more. She currently manages the photo desk as Chief Photographer at the Victoria Advocate, the second oldest newspaper in Texas. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Italian at the University of Texas of Austin and obtained her master’s degree in photojournalism, also at UT. She has worked under the tutelage of Magnum photographer Eli Reed for over seven years and has served as a teaching assistant for beginner and advanced photography classes at the collegiate level. Her passion project is working with Native Agency as content manager and editor to help create a more inclusive industry for visual storytellers in under-represented regions.
