What is Documentary Family Photography?

Documentary Family Photography is a different approach to creating family memories. It is unposed documentation of your family, with all the quirky expressions of young children, the meltdowns and tantrums, and the in-between moments that form the fabric of your life.

My mentor once told me that life is often more about the small brush strokes and details. This teaching led me to a passion for observing and photographing the quiet moments in our lives. As a photojournalist by trade, my specialty is documenting the daily lives of people and exploring what it means to be human.

With documentary photography, you don’t have to worry about coordinating outfits, selecting a scenic location or having children behave in a certain way. You can wear what’s comfortable and be your authentic selves. Let me spend a day in the life with you, or part of a day, whether that’s a normal day at home, an outing at the playground, cooking together, spending time at a relative’s or whatever else your day involves.
