Unspoken Bond

When Kaden Ramirez was diagnosed with autism around age 7, his mother Kim began paying careful attention to his needs. She wanted to give her son the best shot he could have at living a normal life in a world she feels can be cruel and unkind to those who are different. Calf roping at rodeo events, she said, along with maintaining his horses, raising pigs for the livestock show and caring for the family’s backyard chickens have all allowed Kaden to establish a routine, which she said help with his focus, give him a sense of responsibility and also serve as important outlets of expression.
